Family festival with live music, real ales and ciders, acoustic sessions, camping, workshops, and a children’s play area.

Concerts, ceilidhs, dances, clubs and sessions. The Orkney Folk Festival is widely regarded as one of the most prolific and special throughout Scotland, the UK and further afield. The three venues that are used the most are the Stromness Town Hall, the Stromness Academy Lecture Theatre and the Stromness Hotel’s function room. Other events take place in local community centres and village halls.

The Oxford Storytelling Festival is a family festival held in Waterperry on an August bank holiday, with a theme of magic, myth and mystery.

On a new site, check website. It’s about people coming together to eat, drink and make music. It is not a traditional music festival. Lots of ales and concerts, open mike and sessions in the bar. Even some morris dancing. Small craft fair.

A very focused festival, on piping. Glasgow become the heart of the Piping world with events happening around the clock. Lots of individual events spread over 7 days and 14 venues.

A new free festival for Poole with music and dance on the streets overlooking Poole’s lovely harbour. Headliners are Spiers & Boden and The Roving Crows with ceilidh dancing to Dyer:Cumming Band and the Dorset Ceilidh Band. Music will be playing in all the pubs on The Quay.
