A session, all welcome.

A venue for trad music, consistently hosting sessions four evenings a week over the last two decades. A Thursday evening has recently been added, making it five.

It is a ‘Slow Session’ specifically set up to encourage musicians who have no group skills to participate in session playing.

Ballina’s best-regarded trad night. Musicians travel from Castlebar and Westport for the session — strong fiddle tradition, no cover.

A Wednesday-night session in a city-centre pub in Waterford that has kept its traditional character. Musicians play in a circle, with no stage.

Trad session at Great Island Community Centre in Cobh, open to adult musicians.

Doolin’s most-talked-about session. Nightly from late February through November. Small room — arrive before 20:30 or stand all night. No cover.

Open afternoon session every Sunday from 4 to 7 pm with Charles & Stéphane.
