Session

A good session with plenty of room to sit and watch or participate. Not typically suited to beginners. The musicians vary considerably in their openness to newcomers playing. Usually starts around 9:30 or 10pm.

This weekly slow session is for beginner to intermediate traditional Irish musicians who would like the opportunity to play in a traditional session but do not yet have the skill or confidence to join a regular one.

A trad session is starting up at the Schoolhouse Hotel, Northumberland Road, Ballsbridge.

The music is mainly Sliabh Luachra. This is an open session.

A pub on the Barrow in Graiguenamanagh, where Carlow and Kilkenny meet. Thursday sessions in a pub that overlooks the river. Occasional bodhran-heavy weekend sets.

Seven nights a week at 21:30. Tralee’s most reliable session — no cover charge, walk-in friendly.
