Session

Musicians play a variety of styles and instruments, mostly traditional Irish music. Instruments heard include fiddle, uilleann pipes, mandolin, whistles, guitar, and dobro. The session welcomes both tourists and locals.

Mostly tunes and a few songs.

Regular trad sessions and the popular Blake’s Unplugged acoustic gigs. Friday and weekend sessions — the trad nights draw a mixed local crowd.

Long-standing Friday night session. The pub has ‘William Blake’ on its frontage.

A friendly open session, well suited to beginners. It began as a beginner’s session on Wednesday nights some years ago and continues to this day. Up to 20 musicians may attend.

An English music session at The Horseshoe, a traditional pub serving a number of real ales. Instruments only, no singing. Musicians welcome. A full range of food is also available.

Cormac Mac Diarmada, Graham Watson, Eoin Dillon, Christian the Australian, and others who drop in. A bar in the centre of Dublin, open to all.
