Session

The new Comhaltas craobh in Maynooth runs this session on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.

Singers and players of all standards are welcome to this friendly Sing-Around. Visitors are assured of a warm welcome and an appreciative audience. Those who prefer to listen and enjoy a drink will find good company and an eclectic mix of folk.

Open session at Bridgwater Arts Centre, run by Mark Vallentine — playing, singing, or listening. Started as a four-month run of last-Tuesday meetings.

A session in Trim. Four players — pipes, box, whistle, and guitar/vocals — offer a high standard of music in a straightforward, accessible style. Visitors are warmly received.

Long-established Ennis session in a town-centre pub. Locals mix with visitors. Fridays and Saturdays through the season.

The club’s policy of encouraging all to get up and have a go continues unchanged. Though PA and microphones are used, the aim is only to lift the sound, not for any fancy effects. Those new to singing are welcome; no experience is needed. Singers and poets can expect a warm and friendly welcome, and those who prefer to sit and listen are equally warmly received. The session is very ‘Kerry-like’, with many boxes and polkas. It is well received.
