The Hop Farm Music Festival is truly a unique experience, exclusively themed as an event free of ticket registration, with no VIP’s, no Sponsorship or Branding and with the main concentration being on the music and the avid festival go-ers.
The entertainment provided at this premier folk music venue consists of Special Guest Concert Nights (at least once a month, sometime twice) when performers of the highest quality both local, national, and occasionally international, are booked to appear. Reasonably priced ticketed admission ensures that each month the venue is usually packed with enthusiastic ‘folkies’ and devotees of traditional and contemporary folk and acoustic music. When it is not a concert night, the remaining Thursdays are ‘Singers & Musicians Nights’ when a variety of singers, musicians and poets gather to show off their skills in a singaround format. Audience and non-performers are encouraged to attend also and ADMISSION IS FREE. Each year, a different university has the honour (and heavy task) to run it. IVFDF is a non-stop weekend based (fairly broadly) around traditional forms of music and dance. It is an exciting and dynamic festival held at a different university each year. IVFDF has been running since 1951.
