A day of Irish Set Dancing. Starting at 10.30am - 16.30pm workshops. Then a céilí in the evening 8.00 - 11.30pm. Workshops will be to CDs and céilí with live music by Pendragon.

Irish Set Dancing is a great way of socialising and keeping fit at the same time. It is a social form of dance where each dance is in the form of a square, danced with four couples. You don’t need to bring a partner as many come just by themselves and pair up or swap with other dancers. We dance to Irish music, usualy to CDs but occasionally to live music. We welcome all levels of dancers from beginners to the more experienced. We also have a tea/coffee break as we all like to have a chat and get to know each other better. ...

The Islington Folk Club is an old-established club which has met at various venues in Islington since the early 1970s. Its continuing aim is to present the best available artists, from the fiercely traditional to the frankly eccentric. The professional guest artists are supported every week by the house band - The Angel Band - and by resident singers.

We have been up and running since January 2010.The July night saw 10 different acts (if that’s the right word!). One of the best nights to be had, every last Wednesday of the month.Come along, play, sing or watch, everyone welcome!

The aim of the club is to provide a platform where the finest roots musicians in the UK can showcase their talent to an appreciative audience. Each month features three established or up and coming acts drawn from many musical genres, including folk, blues, country, contemporary and world music. Slots last on average about 40 minutes.
