‘Live @ The Globe’, every 2nd Thursday, is an evening of contemporary acoustic music, led by experienced performer Peter Michael Rowan. The night is aimed squarely at fans of songwriters and contemporary folk. It’s a night for people to come along, listen, join in and play their own songs if they want. The pub is a cosy, warm space and lends itself well to a night with no microphones or amplifiers, just songs and guitars (and other instruments). After many years it has risen from the ashes in memory of local poet and song writer Rod Legge. It is hoped that it will become a focal point for local musicians to play, listen and share ‘real’ music in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Although called a ‘Folk’ club, it welcomes ALL styles of acoustic-based music.

Due to unforseen circumstances (temporary closure of the Railway), Lymm Folk Club is without a permanent venue. One of the venues we are now using is the Spread Eagle in Lymm centre, by the Lower Dam.

Open session of instrumental Scottish trad. All visitors are welcome, musicians are encouraged to join in.

We are a small but friendly club dedicated to the retention, propagation and performance of the Traditional Music and Song of the British Isles, whilst having a little fun! As the above would suggest our booking policy tends to lean towards the Traditional although that is not set in concrete as exampled by our biennial song writing competition where our desire is to encourage songs that ‘will continue to be sung in Folk Clubs’. ...
