Music and singing club - any style / any ability welcome. Free admission. Every 3rd Wednesday in the back room

This a mini concert series that runs between four and six times a year usually on a Wednesday or a Thursday on the any of the two middle weeks of a month.

A folk music & song club that welcomes participation through playing, singing or listening. We are always ready to greet and encourage new singers and musicians. With regular guests and open mike/singers nights. Lovely back room pub venue in a quiet village

A ceilidh is an evening of high-energy dancing, similar to barn dancing or country dancing. The music is always live and loud and dancing is often fast and furious. Oxfolk plays host to many of the best ceilidh bands on the English folk scene and there will always be an excellent caller to guide you through the dances. The dances are usually for sets of couple, rather than for couples alone, and the dances are always clearly explained and walked through before the music starts playing. If you’ve never done ceilidh dancing, this is a brilliant way to start because you really can pick it up as you go along. Wear some comfortable shoes or trainers, though – you’ll need them! ...

We welcome all folk performers and, of course, audiences, and have regulars who offer both traditional and also more contemporary material. We can almost always ensure that those who wish to perform will get a chance on Open Nights (usually a couple of numbers). Time for floor spots is obviously much more limited on Guest Nights, so do let us know if you are coming on these dates and hoping to perform. We will do our best to get you on if we can, especially if you are coming from a distance. ...
