Parkgate Folk Club

Parkgate Folk Club started in it’s present format in January 1994 in the Parkgate Hotel. In March 2000 the hotel closed for business and the club moved to The Boathouse. The club is open on the last Thursday of each month, except December when we run on the Thursday preceding the Christmas holiday. Occasionally we put on extra nights in the middle of the month to fit in with a particular artiste’s tour dates. ...

Normally first Tuesdays apart from October when we change to second Tuesday to avoid the mop fair. Very informal, mostly Irish/English tunes, some American; depends on who turns up! Starts around 8.30, usually in the front parlour.

A new free festival for Poole with music and dance on the streets overlooking Poole’s lovely harbour. Headliners are Spiers & Boden and The Roving Crows with ceilidh dancing to Dyer:Cumming Band and the Dorset Ceilidh Band. Music will be playing in all the pubs on The Quay.
