The revived SOUTHDOWNS FOLK FESTIVAL in and around the Town Centre of Bognor Regis brings the very best on folk and acoustic music and dance.

Spalding folk club has been running continuously since 1979 - and a couple of the original members are still with us. We aim to have a good time, encourage local performers and to present the best professional guests that we can afford. There has been a strong tradition of songwriting from the residents over many years, including many awards at the Radio Lincolnshire “Write a Lincolnshire Folk Song” competition.

We have guest artists most weeks with the last Tuesday of each month reserved for a Round the Room night when anyone is welcome to come and play, sing or just listen. Occasionally there are Open Stage nights when performers wishing to show their talents can book a spot of about 20 minutes.

Not so much a festival more a weekend of great music showcasing the amazing amount of really good folk and acoustic music in East Anglia. Admission is usually free although we sometimes have to make a small charge to cover fees for the better known performers.There is no campig on site.Both days kick off with Morris Dancing and the weekend finishes with a Sunday evening survivors session which is free to anyone to join in or just watch. ...
