SECOND SATURDAYS This is where the Open Nights started ~ as an environment in which to share songs, words and music, without amplification, to provide somewhere people can perform, and to encourage them to do so. Everybody is welcome, to perform or not, as we go around the room. You can hear poems, stories, modern songs and various musics as well as folk stuff. Occasionally we also have a Visiting Performer, from ‘furrin’ parts, who we ask to do a few extra items! There is no admission charge, but we pass the pot round during the evening. The income is used to cover promotional costs and to subsidise irregular workshops on a variety of subjects - voice, song writing, instrumental, etc.
