The regular players at Oscar Taylor’s are a friendly, accomplished group, mostly older men with years of experience playing the traditional music they grew up with.

A good session with plenty of room to sit and watch or participate. Not typically suited to beginners. The musicians vary considerably in their openness to newcomers playing. Usually starts around 9:30 or 10pm.

This weekly slow session is for beginner to intermediate traditional Irish musicians who would like the opportunity to play in a traditional session but do not yet have the skill or confidence to join a regular one.

A trad session is starting up at the Schoolhouse Hotel, Northumberland Road, Ballsbridge.

St John’s, Ballinteer, hosted a session aimed at improvers. The session no longer takes place.

A Saturday afternoon session in the Peter and Paul church hall, Baldoyle. Open to all.

The Blue Light is an intimate, welcoming venue that has been running for years. A weekly Tuesday session is also held.

Ireland’s oldest pub, established in 1198. A Sunday traditional music session starts late.
