FAB Club is a Get a Floor Spot Folk Club. Anyone can turn up and perform a couple of numbers or just come to watch the show. The club is called FAB because anything remotely connected to folk, acoustic or blues music goes. It is also a FABulous club, where musician and non-musician friends meet up, have a chat and a laugh with other performers or non-performers.

Hello and welcome If you are looking for the rockingest acoustic session in Essex, it’s on at the Coast Inn, in West Mersea, 8 miles south of Colchester, every Thursday night.

The acoustic of the venue is excellent, wooden floor, no soft furnishings and varied ceiling heights. The beer is excellent, currently Green King IPA, Mersea Island Brewery’s Yo Boy! and Captain Bob from Maldon.

Wivenhoe Folk Club

The Wivenhoe Folk Club has been meeting at The Greyhound in Wivenhoe High Street since 5th March, 1992.

The Club is no-smoking and largely acoustic.

The booked guests are nationally known and often internationally known artistes; floor spots by local and near-local performers are always welcomed.
