Officially the oldest pub in Ireland (900 AD), with Saturday trad sessions in a room with genuine medieval bones. The music has been continuous here longer than most countries have existed.

A long-running Monday night session (since the mid-1970s) where old-time waltzes sit alongside jigs, reels and polkas.

Named for the rebel lord who rose against the Crown in 1534. Thursday trad in the oldest town in Kildare, with sessions running most of the year.

Wednesdays until 02:00. Indie/alt set with no cover before 23:00. A late-night venue in Cork.

The long-running Centenary Stores Sunday lunchtime session has moved to Sinnott’s of Bishopswater.
