Dalry Folk Club is the newest addition to a thriving music scene in Ayrshire, formed in late 2015 and holding alternate gigs and sessions on the first Friday of the month. It meets in Dalry’s Masonic Lodge in New Street. The club aims to bring members of the community together, share people’s talents, and introduce people to new musicians and songs.
Held at the Auld Cross Keys Hotel, Denholm, Roxburghshire, the club meets every second Thursday, starting at 8.30pm.
Dunblane Folk Club meets every Sunday at the Lesser Hall of the Victoria Halls from 7.30 to 10 pm for an evening of songs, tunes, recitations and stories. A donation of £3 is welcome but optional. BYOB, though tea and coffee are available. All styles of acoustic music are welcome. The setting is friendly and informal, with no stage or paid guests.
Fyvie Folk Club The club meets on the first and second Wednesdays of each month in the Vale Hotel, Fyvie in the North East of Scotland. Fyvie Folk Club was first formed during the Folk Revival of the 1960’s/70’s, but faded away after running for a few years.
Girvan Folk Club was formed in October 1964 with the aim of promoting traditional folk music and song. The club first met in the local scout hall, where the lack of a licence meant refreshments were limited to tea and orange juice. A move to the British Legion Hall followed before the club found a welcome at the Jolly Shepherd Pub in Barr.
Glenfarg Folk Club The Internationally Famous Glenfarg Village Folk Club first met on 3 April 1978. Over thirty years later the club is still going strong. We meet every Monday night and offer a wide range of musical acts as well as providing an opportunity for budding performers to ’have a go’.
The Huntly Folk Club takes place on the third Wednesday of every month at Harry’s Bar (behind The Crown pub) and starts at 8pm.
