Now in its third year. Poets, writers, artists, musicians and actors all live within close proximity of the town — Bungay has that effect on people. The programme includes sessions and concerts, featuring some well-known names. The festival is all about participation. Visitors are invited to enjoy the ambience, the eclectic and exciting shops, and the excellent food and beer. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own instruments.
The 9th Bury St Edmunds Folk Festival is a one-day event held in the walled garden at Nowton Park this summer. The festival features craft stalls, children’s activities, music workshops, hot food, and a bar with local real ales, and is suitable for the whole family.
Note the NEW LOCATION for this, the 14th event. This event has been going for around ten years now, in East Anglia (hence the name). A fresh approach to a timeless tradition with an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional music.
Not strictly a folk event. A mixture of styles and events, described as similar to Breaded Theory.
Not so much a festival more a weekend of great music showcasing the amazing amount of really good folk and acoustic music in East Anglia. Admission is usually free although we sometimes have to make a small charge to cover fees for the better known performers.There is no camping on site.Both days kick off with Morris Dancing and the weekend finishes with a Sunday evening survivors session which is free to anyone to join in or just watch. ...
